Your New Role: Payroll Manager (m/f/d)

Are you passionate about payroll and leadership? Do you enjoy driving operational excellence while working hands-on with your team? Then this opportunity in our vibrant Essen office might be your perfect fit.

As our Payroll Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of ~30 professionals and take ownership of payroll operations for eight TELUS Digital entities in Germany. You’ll be right at the heart of things – not behind a screen, but onsite with your team, driving meaningful change and creating a best-in-class payroll environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead with Impact

• Inspire, coach, and guide your team of payroll professionals to excellence
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture onsite in Essen

Own the Process

• Oversee accurate and timely payroll for multiple German entities
• Serve as the go-to expert for all payroll, tax, and social security matters

Shape the Future of Payroll

• Optimize payroll systems and processes with a strategic, forward-thinking approach
• Leverage tools like DATEV and digital HR platforms to modernize operations

Advise & Collaborate

• Work cross-functionally with HR, finance, auditors, and leadership
• Ensure compliance with German labor laws, tax regulations, and company standards

What You Bring

✅ Completed education or degree in payroll, HR, or finance

✅ 5+ years of experience in payroll with a proven track record in Germany

✅ Strong leadership skills – you've successfully led teams and enjoy people management

✅ Deep understanding of German labor law, social security, and payroll taxes

✅ Confidence using DATEV; experience with Workday or Google Workspace is a plus

✅ Excellent communication in German and English
