For our Environmental Social Governance (ESG) program team, part of the Group Chief Sustainability & New Technologies Office (CSO), we are looking for a (Senior) Manager Product Carbon Footprint (f/m/d). The position is based at our Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, and reports to the position Director ESG Program.
You will be a key member of a team of experts, driving the company-wide execution and tracking the progress of our sustainability program, which is an integral part of our company strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the execution of many of our internal CO2 product footprinting activities.
Furthermore, you will work closely with different departments to ensure accurate data and effective implementation of sustainability practices.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
- ESG subject matter expert for Heidelberg Materials' (HM) Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) generation projects and for defining EPD-based sustainability claims
- ESG contact point for the development of HM's assurance framework for our net-zero carbon captured products
- Utilize your expertise to educate, inform and engage internal and external stakeholders, providing trainings and supporting documentation
- Monitor developments of EPD standardization process applicable to HM markets globally and advocate for policies that advance our company's objectives by engaging with key stakeholders
- Support HM in external events and industry associations related to product carbon accounting
YOUR PROFILE
- Extensive experience in life cycle assessments (LCA) and EPD ideally in the field of building products
- Experience with green building rating systems LEED/BREEAM/DGNB is a plus
- Know-how of chain of custody models e.g., mass balance, book and claim
- Excellent networker and strong ability to coordinate and align activities between group functions and area / country representatives.
- Excellent English language skills, German language skills are an asset
